SET CONSTRUCTION PART 3 AND 4

SET CONSTRUCTION PART 3 AND 4

After compulsions of my set structure it was now time to add in the details such as furniture and fittings I build most of the furniture out of ply wood and hot glue

The arm chair is made up of two ply wood boxes hot glued together then coved in foam to make it look more like arm chair. Then to finish of the look i glue leatherette to the foam and base of the chair.

The television, tables and grandfather clock where all made in the same way using plywood construction and super glue/ hot glue together. Then sanded back smooth and filled in any gaps or holes with wood filler then a equal layer of wood varnish was applied to each piece of furniture to give it that authentic dark mahogany wood colour.

The curtains and carpet where made from sheets of fabric hemmed to give it a crisp edge.

the radiators are made from 3 piece of plywood glowed together and a rotary tool used to cut in to one side to give it those groves you find in really life radiators then panted with a white prima, two bits of wire where drilled in to the bottom sides and bend in to place to finish the look.

All the small objects dotted about the room such as beer cans, beer bottles, kids toys telephone and ash tray are made from Fiymo oven bake clay and then painted to look like the desired objects or labels added to the beer cans.
